We have very strong links with our local church, St Edmund’s. Our Vicar, Reverend Seabrook, regularly visits the school to lead collective worship and help with curriculum activities. In his role as a foundation governor, he has also observed acts of collective worship lead by members of school staff.
All children in the school are given the opportunity to visit the Church at various points during the year. We work very closely with the Diocese of Norwich in producing our annual carol service in St Peter Mancroft church in Norwich; an event that involves around 200 children and 400 guests each year.

Whole-school RE Days
During whole-school RE days, pupils across the school explore the same Big Question to supplement their RE learning across the year.
Our first Big Question of the year was: ‘Can there be different answers to the same question?’ Within this, we read some different answers to the question — including a Christian version, a Hindu version and a non-theist’s version — before year groups explored this question through different sets of activities.
Christianity and Hinduism, alongside Islam, are core religions studied by pupils at our school as we are not a faith school for Christians but a Christian school for all.
Below is the work from that day on display at our local church, St Edmund’s.
Shoe-box Appeal
Every year, we get involved in this amazing project which involves sending shoeboxes full of Christmas gifts to vulnerable families in the UK and abroad. For more information visit: https://blythswood.org/shoeboxappeal/
